Job Description

About the Role: SITKA is actively seeking a Retail Store Manager to lead our flagship Bozeman Montana store. You will provide leadership and direction to the store team and successfully execute company strategies. You will determine and maintain optimal staffing levels, recruit, hire, coach, and motivate a team of brand advocates who in turn will provide a "wow" factor level of customer experience. You drive store profitability by controlling expenses, protecting company assets, upholding store operational and visual merchandising standards. You have a customer first mindset, and thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing entrepreneurial environments.

This position will be located in Bozeman, Montana, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership & Accountability: Uphold brand standards and take initiative in achieving performance goals
  • Performance Measurement: Monitor and adjust store performance against retail KPIs and goals
  • Customer Experience: Ensure exceptional service, visual merchandising, and product knowledge
  • Marketing & Community Engagement: Support store events and build community relationships for brand awareness
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and escalate issues, partnering with cross-functional teams for solutions
  • Team Development: Lead hiring, onboarding, and integration of team members effectively
  • Team Support: Provide daily support to achieve objectives and maintain standards
  • Strategic Planning: Analyze business results and collaborate on strategic plans with Retail Channel Leader
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure operational standards are met to set the team up for success

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a fast-paced, high volume retail environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a specialty retail environment, preferably in the outdoor apparel industry
  • High level of ownership, accountability, initiative, and success achieving sales and profit results
  • Ability to build, lead, and manage high-performing teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills founded on authentic customer service delivery with the ability to positively and proactively handle customer concerns
  • Experience planning and executing store community participation and events
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organization and follow-through skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
