Summary:
In support of OPS at Southwire Company Florence Plant, the Engineering Manager will provide daily leadership and long-term vision to the Engineering department for Florence Campus.

General Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and measuring critical engineering processes and programs in the plant. Manages the day-to-day operations of the Engineering department including preventative and predictive programs, reducing cost associated with breakdowns, determining proper staffing and skill levels and training. This position requires a hands-on approach with employees and equipment repairs. Responsible for leading the engineering team in process improvement and implementation of manufacturing processes that support all functions of production and lean.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of related Engineering experience.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of computers and the use of current desktop software.
  • Must have a clear understanding of OPS principles and applications.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience recommended.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
